CBD FAQs

What is CBD?

CBD stands for cannabidiol and is a naturally occurring compound found in cannabis and hemp plants. It is one of 144 different cannabinoids found in the plant and is known for its non-psychotropic properties.

What are the benefits of CBD?

CBD interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system to affect mood, pain sensation and even hunger.

Reported benefits of CBD include help with insomnia, anxiety, depression withdrawal, stress and chronic pain.

Another advantage of CBD is that it's nonpsychoactive, meaning you can benefit from CBD without the “high” associated with cannabis.

If CBD comes from hemp, will it get me high?

CBD does not induce any cognitive simulation, so it won’t get you high. Although, in very high concentrations, some people report an uplifting effect.

THC is the cannabinoid in the hemp plant that induces a psychoactive reaction. While some CBD oils contain traces of THC, the legal limit in the UK (0.2%) is not enough to get you high.

Full spectrum CBD oil in the UK contains the highest traces of THC, while broad spectrum CBD oil and CBD isolates in the UK have the THC compound wholly removed.

What is the best way to take CBD?

There are many ways to take CBD, depending on the product and your preference. You can take CBD oils and isolates orally or add them to food and drink, consume CBD edibles as you would any other food, and apply CBD topicals to the skin.

What are the different types of CBD oils?

There are various CBD oils, containing different levels of cannabinoids.

Full spectrum CBD oils contain CBD alongside other compounds such as CBN, CBG, terpenes, chlorophyll and a small amount of THC.

Broad spectrum CBD oils contain CBD alongside other compounds such as CBN, CBG, terpenes, and chlorophyll. Broad spectrum CBD oils contain 0.0% THC.

CBD isolates are the purest form of CBD and contain no other cannabinoids and 0.0% THC. Isolates are usually extracted from hemp because this produces less THC.

How much CBD should I?

Everyone has a unique endocannabinoid system, meaning that there’s no one size fits all approach when it comes to the best CBD oil for you. You can consult a medical practitioner or click here to find out the best dosage to begin with.

Is CBD oil legal in the UK and Europe?

CBD is entirely legal in the UK and Europe. Unlike regular cannabis products, CBD oil in the UK contains less than 0.2% THC and is extracted from industrial-grade hemp approved by the EU.

Hemp naturally contains higher levels of CBD and lower levels of THC, making it perfect for CBD oils in the UK.

Can I fail a drug test with CBD?

CBD products in the UK contain less than 0.2% THC, making them legal for use. However, if you are undergoing a strict no THC drug test, full spectrum CBD oils will produce a positive result because they contain a small amount of THC. Instead, you can use broad spectrum CBD oil or CBD isolates with 0.0% THC.
