ENCASA BOTANICS - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is CBD?

CBD is a naturally occurring cannabinoid that comes from hemp. It is a part of other naturally occurring cannabinoids like THC.

What are the benefits of CBD?

CBD interacts with our body’s endocannabinoid system which affects mood, pain sensation, general mood and even hunger. CBD, thus, helps with insomnia, anxiety, withdrawal, stress and chronic pain.

If it comes from hemp, will CBD get me high?

CBD does not induce any cognitive stimulation, or in layman terms, does not get you high. It is THC, another hemp extract, that results in the “high” and not CBD. However, CBD oils may contain some traces of THC depending on your choice and preference. CBD Full spectrum is the most pure, unprocessed and contains some traces of THC where as Broad spectrum goes through a refinement process to remove the THC compound.

So how do I take CBD?

There’s multiple methods of taking CBD, and you may choose the same as per your convenience. These include CBD oils, vapes, edibles, or extracts. Find a selection of the same here.

What are my choices for CBD Oils?

As mentioned, there’s multiple types of CBD oils that vary in the amount of cannabinoids present. Full Spectrum CBD not only contains CBD, but also cannabinoids like CBN, CBG, Terpenes, Chlorophyll and a very low concentration of THC, which results in the most minimal cognitive stimulation. CBD Isolates are the purest form of CBD without any infiltration from the other cannabinoids. Mostly, CBD Isolates are extracted from hemp due to its natural tendency to produce less THC, which is undesirable in isolates. Isolates may be preferred by people who do not wish to intake THC at all. Broad-Spectrum CBD, which is a middle ground between Full Spectrum and CBD Isolates. Like Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum has other cannabinoids along with CBD, however, like isolates, THC is completely absent.

Which type of CBD is suited for me and how much should I take?

Every individual has their own unique endocannabinoid system, thus there is no one size fits all approach when it comes to prescribing the method or dosage of CBD. You should consult a medical practitioner to understand what may be perfect for you. For more detail on dosage, you may click here to understand what dosage may suit you better.

Is it even legal if there’s THC present?

Well, yes! CBD is completely legal in the UK if it has a THC concentration of less than 0.2%. To achieve this, CBD must be obtained from industrial grade hemp which has been approved by the EU. Hemp has high concentrations of CBD and lower THC levels naturally, making it the perfect candidate for compound extraction.

If I take CBD, will I fail drug tests?

The well within-limit amounts of THC in full-spectrum CBD oils are completely acceptable and will not make you fail any drug tests that you take. For people with a strict NO THC policy, there are other options like broad spectrum oils or CBD isolates with no traces of THC
